Our History

In 1992 Sof’Fall Inc was formed by Curtis Stoddard and Vern Garrett. Elouise Bird helped them establish the company and take Sof’Fall Inc. to an international company. In 1998 Elouise Bird purchased the company to continue to service the recreational industry. Elouise has and continues to help drive the safety of children thru industry standard writing and participating on numerous safety committees. That is why we say:

Our Mission is Children's Safety

Sof'Fall Incorporated is a company dedicated to the safety of children. We manufacture and distribute engineered wood fiber specifically for playgrounds, and seek to educate playground planners, providers, and consumers about protective surfacing safety issues. Sof'Fall is a member of the International Play Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA). Sof'Fall management is certified with the National Playground Safety Institute (NPSI).
